What makes a Wingit deal?
Last updated: 1 June 2025
Not every cheap flight is a Wingit deal. Our system applies strict criteria before an alert is sent — here's exactly what qualifies.
The discount threshold
A fare is flagged as a deal when it's at least 15–30% below the historical average price for that exact route in that travel month. We don't compare against last week's price or a random baseline — we use months of accumulated price data per route, per cabin class, per departure month.
This means a "deal" for Delhi → Dubai in December is benchmarked against what Delhi → Dubai typically costs in December — not in March. Seasonal pricing is already baked in.
Round-trip international only
Wingit only covers round-trip international flights. No one-way tickets, no domestic India routes, no multi-city itineraries. We've found round-trip deals represent the largest absolute savings for Indian travellers, and the data is cleanest to benchmark.
All four cabin classes
Deals cover Economy (M), Premium Economy (W), Business (C), and First Class (F). Economy deals are most frequent. Business and First Class deals appear less often but often represent savings of ₹50,000 or more per person.
Manual review before alerts go out
Every flagged deal passes through a human review step before notifications are sent. Our team checks the fare is genuine, the route makes sense, and the departure date is far enough ahead for you to plan. This is why Wingit deals are curated, not raw data dumps.
Verification against live fares
Before approval, our system cross-checks the flagged fare against current prices on the route. Deals that can't be confirmed within 20% of the flagged price are dropped silently. You only see deals that passed both our historical threshold and live price verification.
