Why is my wishlisted deal showing as expired?

Last updated: 1 June 2025

A wishlisted deal shows as expired when Wingit's monitoring system can no longer detect the discounted fare on that route.

What causes a deal to expire?

  • The airline repriced — the sale fare sold out and the airline has reverted to standard pricing
  • The fare window closed — airline sales often run for a fixed period (24–72 hours); once the window closes, the deal fare disappears
  • Seats are sold out — on popular routes during a sale, the discounted seats fill up quickly
  • Departure date passed — deals with departure dates in the past are automatically expired

What happens to expired deals in my Wishlist?

Expired Wishlist items stay in your Wishlist greyed out with an "Expired" or "No longer available" tag. We don't automatically delete them because the saved price can be useful as a reference — you can compare it against current fares to gauge whether the route is discounting again.

How to clean up expired deals

  1. 1Open your Wishlist tab
  2. 2Find expired items (greyed out)
  3. 3Tap the remove icon or swipe to delete

Will the deal come back?

Sometimes, yes. Airlines re-run sales on the same routes periodically. If the deal reappears and it's within 5% of your saved price, Wingit will push a notification to your phone. If it drops further below your saved price, you'll also get an alert.

Setting a new Wishlist item for the same route

If a deal on the same route reappears at a new price, it will appear as a new deal card in the deals feed. Tap the heart on the new card to start tracking the updated price.
