How does Wingit work?

Last updated: 1 June 2025

Wingit runs a fully automated deal detection pipeline three times a day. Here's what happens behind the scenes every time a deal alert lands in your inbox.

Step 1 — Price scanning (three times daily)

Our system scans flight prices from all 8 Indian departure airports at 5:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 9:00 PM IST. Each scan pulls fares across hundreds of international routes covering economy, premium economy, business, and first class.

Step 2 — Historical benchmarking

Every fare is compared against the historical price for that route in that travel month. We maintain months of pricing data per route per cabin class. A fare qualifies for review only if it's at least 15–30% below the benchmark. Benchmarks are recalculated continuously as new prices come in.

Step 3 — Live price verification

Flagged fares are cross-checked against current inventory on the route. If the price has already disappeared or jumped, the deal is dropped before it ever reaches you. This keeps false alarms to a minimum.

Step 4 — Human review and approval

Deals that pass automated checks go into a review queue. Our team checks each one — is the departure date reasonable? Is the route sensible? Is the discount genuine? Only approved deals get sent.

Step 5 — Multi-channel alerts

Approved deals are pushed to all Wingit users via email, push notification (mobile app), WhatsApp, and SMS simultaneously. The moment a deal is approved, your alert fires.

Step 6 — You book directly

Tap "Book Now" on any deal — you're taken to the airline or booking platform to complete your purchase. Wingit is never in the payment loop.

The whole cycle from scan to alert typically takes under 30 minutes.
